Benefits of a hotel liquor licence
A hotel liquor licence permits the widest range of activities and uses on the premises - it is the most flexible and adaptable liquor licence.
Liquor may be sold for consumption both on and off the premises, or at functions away from the premises. Accommodation services may be provided, with liquor permitted to be sold and supplied to residents and guests at any time. Gaming machines and other gambling are also permitted on the premises.
Cessation of liquor
During the extended trading period, a hotel liquor licence may cease the sale and supply of liquor and continue to provide other services, such as food, gaming and entertainment.

During the standard trading period, a hotel liquor licence may also cease the sale and supply of liquor and continue to provide gaming services, but only with the approval of the Authority. No approval is required if the hotel liquor licence does not provide gaming services, but continues to offer other services such as food and entertainment.
Minors are permitted in certain circumstances
Generally, minors are permitted to enter and remain on areas within a hotel liquor licence, provided a minors area authorisation is in effect and the minor is in the company of a responsible adult.
